About

Kathryn is a San Francisco Bay Area, Northern California artist printmaker, photographer and  painter  who has been making art since childhood.  A citizen of both the United States and Italy, her Southern Italian ancestors include artists who worked as painters, church muralists and stained glass window artists.

Having lived and travelled extensively in Europe and Latin America, as well as the United States, Kathryn's contemporary fine art is influenced by the events, traditions and vibrant colors emanating from these worlds. Her work reflects a heritage that includes ancient church art as well as a contemporary social conscience.  

Kathryn's work has been widely exhibited in numerous museums and juried art exhibitions, with compositions that draw on current macro events, culture, sports and symbolism, as well as the joy of beauty as it's own excuse for being. She frequently juxtaposes disparate images in the same work, leaving room for the viewer's interpretation along with her own. Her work at once evokes familiarity, remembrance, fun and wonder.
